I envision a world where even those who are precluded from the formal employment sector due to insufficient education can still economically support themselves and contribute meaningfully to the local and global economy.

William has worked with the City of Tempe’s Strategic Management and Diversity office as a Youth Safety and Juvenile Crime Diversion Metrics and Strategies intern for the 2018 Fall. During the summer of 2018, William interned with the Aga Khan Foundation, Coast Region, Mombasa offices in Kenya with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) department. He also served both as the Public Relations Officer for African Students’ Association (AFSA) at ASU and as an Ambassador (Marketing and Public Relation Assistant) for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars’ Program’s Baobab Online Platform for the 2017-2018 academic year. For the summer of 2017, William worked as a Youth Entrepreneurship Camp Facilitator at the African Leadership Academy (ALA) in Johannesburg, South Africa to encourage young leaders to be self-reliant through innovation. In the future, William hopes to work with either domestic or international policy think-tanks focusing on the use of research evidence in policy making. That, according to William, will enable him to substantially contribute to a sustainable socio-economic development of Africa by contributing to the formulation of research-based policies and interventions. William enjoys playing and watching soccer, NBA and sailing. He sees these activities as great platforms for practicing teamwork.
