Faculty engagement

Development seminar at ASU

Every January, faculty from Ghanaian partner universities attend the Faculty Development Seminar at ASU to gain familiarity with the institution and the participating academic programs their selected Mastercard Foundation Scholars will commence the following academic year. Faculty members develop skills and strategies to effectively mentor and support their Mastercard Foundation Scholars’ academic, cultural and professional transitions and leadership development. Participants are exposed to innovative curricular and pedagogical programs and practices, and collaboratively develop plans with ASU faculty engagement to extend the learning opportunity to others at their home institutions.

Symposium in Ghana

Faculty from ASU travel to Ghana to co-facilitate a one-day professional development symposium for a broader audience of faculty from the partner institutions on themes and topics identified by faculty during their time at ASU in January. Additionally, faculty members participate in strategic meetings to explore further opportunities for collaboration and exchange in areas of mutual interest.
