9Serving others is a fundamental virtue every good leader should possess. My envisioned world is where individuals are not hindered from pursuing their dreams because of their geographical location—a world where everyone has equal access to quality education and resources.
Samantha Mavunga is a Big data and AI enthusiast pursuing Bachelor's in Computer Science at Ashesi University and a Master's degree in Information Technology at Arizona State University under the International Accelerated Degree Program (IADP). Her greatest strength lies in putting learned skills into practice; hence she is inspired to start a Big Data Consulting firm that would educate small businesses on the value of Big data and competent technologies at affordable prices. Samantha has strong research skills. In 2021, she participated in the International Global Covid Research with Connecticut College in the USA and presented her findings as part of the 2021 Model African University Conference in Bayreuth, Germany. With the help of a faculty member, she also researched the impacts of big data on small businesses in Ghana. Aside from her research experience, Samantha is also interested in Education, especially how it can change lives; she served as the Mentors Network secretary and later founded "Aim to Shine '' an initiative that seeks to provide mentorship services to primary students in Chitungwiza (Zimbabwe). The initiative has undertaken several projects, including free lessons to the writing classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the summer of 2022, she interned with Applied Methods and Research Experience (AMRE). She also interned at BlitzTech and Netro Electronics (Zimbabwe) as a full-stack web developer in 2020 and 2021. She is currently the Global Fellow at Open Society University Network (OSUN), helping civic engagement projects ,CCAPS member at Ashesi University and the Director of TODA Investments, a company that produces natural drinks using Baobab seeds in Zimbabwe.
