I envision a world where everyone has equal access to educational opportunities regardless of their background.

Precious Njeck is an aspiring IT Engineer studying Computer Science at Ashesi University while pursuing a Master’s in Information Technology at Arizona State University through ASU’s International Accelerated Degree Program (IADP). She values the role her community played in shaping her life and is therefore committed to giving back. After missing school for three years due to the political crisis in her native Cameroon, Precious found purpose in serving as an educational mentor for the youth in her country. Since 2019, she has been a facilitator and mentor for the Open Dreams Summer Academy in Cameroon preparing about 25 high-achieving, underprivileged students for University Scholarship applications each year. During her time at Ashesi, she has taken part in a project to teach ICT courses to High School students in the Berekuso community near Accra, Ghana. Precious also serves as a member of the Mastercard Academic Committee at Ashesi, providing support to scholars with schoolwork. In the summer of 2022, as an intern with Diive, a South Africa-based company, she successfully led a diverse team including students from Boston College and Harvard University on a project to facilitate Blockchain education across Africa. Precious is part of the Ashesi Tennis Club and enjoys playing tennis during her free time. She hopes to bring her passion for technology and education together and develop solutions that break the barriers young people face in attaining their educational and career goals and facilitate the development of skills vital for employability.
