I envision a world where every youth can explore their passion and gain acumen in computer programming.

Joshua Owusu Ansah is an aspiring software engineer studying computer science at Ashesi University. He is an individual who loves storytelling through programming and finance. He is presently a master’s student studying information technology at Arizona State University under ASU’s International Accelerated Degree Program (IADP) in the 4+1 model. As a person who wishes to contribute to the rebirth of Ghana and Africa at large, Joshua has organized a one-month coding bootcamp for the millennials in his neighborhood and exposed them to programming and some of the fantastic jobs in the technology industry. He was able to achieve this with the help of the Clinton Global Initiative and the Ford Foundation. Joshua believes in the principle of servant leadership. As a consequence, he has provided his services to the people of Ashesi University by working as a career peer advisor, a mathematics tutor, a work study intern with the office of Diversity and International Programs, the MCF scholars’ representative, and the Baobab Ambassador for Ashesi. Joshua also built systems that helped the mathematics department assign students to different mathematic tracks in the school. He has participated in international competitions such as the New Business Challenge, where he placed second in the competition in the Netherlands. He believes that “success is not dependent on the money one has but rather the number of people one has impacted."
