3I envision a world where lack of access to education due to financial constraints will be a long gone history; a world where access to education will be addressed as a human right.
Martin Kinyanjui, a social entrepreneurship and green energy enthusiast, hopes to create affordable and sustainable energy sources in Kenya. Having been raised up in Central Kenya, Martin experienced what it meant to have frequent power shortages during dry seasons and their impact on businesses, security, and access to health. Through this experience, Martin has come to greatly value the integration of energy and technology to develop practical solutions and real life applications that improve community welfare. This passion is evident in his give back project with Engineering Projects in Community Service at Arizona State University. With the aim of understanding how design principles are implemented in developing feasible prototypes and project scaling, Martin is working with a team of engineering students to develop a Solar Enzyme Cooler for biofuel enzymes in Partnership with Hexagon Renewables and the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Nigeria.
Martin wants to use his degree in Electrical Engineering and his proclivity for mathematics, economics, and sustainability to develop energy-preserving electronics designs and business solutions. He is interested in power management, high voltage, systems analysis, and electronics.
