I want to use my talents in entrepreneurship and storytelling to encourage women to not be afraid to start their own businesses and become less dependent on others for survival.

 

 

Margaret Yirenkyi is currently a Mastercard Foundation Scholar studying public relations at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She is originally from Ghana, West Africa. Yirenkyi has been a freelance news writer on diverse topics like sports, law, business and politics. Her works have appeared in local Arizona online and print publications, including the Downtown Devil, SanTan Sun News and MyLocalNews. Yirenkyi is currently working as copyeditor/copywriter at ASU’s Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) Marketing and Communication Department, where she helps develop key messages, clever brand positioning and clear campaign language that highlight the ASU experience through the lenses of a range of EOSS units. Yirenkyi wants to use her experience in journalism and strategic communication to pursue a master’s degree in international relations/communication. She believes in the importance of efficient and effective global communication and collaboration.
