Being a Mastercard Foundation Scholar, to me, means being an agent of change. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program has empowered me to achieve what I am passionate about so I can use it to help people in my community, my country and the rest of the world.

George Karway is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the Arizona State University pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical Informatics. His interest is in machine learning, data science and mobile health. Last summer, he worked with an organization that is using mobile health application to bring primary care for the first time in some of the rural communities in his country. George is currently an advisor for the Sun Devil Support Network at the Arizona State University, where he works with other advisors to create awareness programs to educate students on violence preventions. He is also a student mentor for the Global Guide program, where he supports new international students in adjusting to Arizona State University community.
