I will use my talents and gifts in developing and coming up with new ideas to empower and transform communities in rural areas of Uganda through diversification of modern cropping systems for more food production, that will solve hunger and promote healthy and sustainable communities.

 

 

Charles Ssendagala is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at ASU-Downtown campus; pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management at the College of Public Service and Community Solutions.He is a co-founder of the ‘Calabash Collection-Uganda’ a social enterprise focused on repurposing large wasted PVC banners used for marketing into beautiful bags, clothes, open shoes and other accessories. He lives by Steve Jobs’ quotation “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” In future, Charles plans to start a nonprofit organization in Uganda that cares about people with disabilities, through creating projects that incorporates their skills in order for them to earn a living.
