3I envision a world where people have access to food regardless of where they live or their levels of income.
Balanding is a senior studying Biological Sciences. Prior to coming to the United States, he worked at the Medical Research Council (MRC) in The Gambia where he was involved in several malaria research projects, working both in the laboratory and in the field. Balanding is interested in public health, hunger eradication, and understanding the role of nutrition in infectious diseases especially in developing countries. He is the Founder of Rural Impact, a non-profit organization based in The Gambia in West Africa. His organization works to empower smallholder farmers in rural communities to fight against hunger and malnutrition.
