Being a Mastercard Foundation Scholar means demonstrating global engagement, social transformation, and sustainability coupled with a commitment to giving back and making a difference in the lives of others.

 

 

 Nurulhaq Hasan has always cherished the constant aspiration of becoming a renowned mechanical engineer who tackles perplexing problems with great acumen. He considers it imperative to plunge himself into the impeccable research environment of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering to nurture his academic talents relating to Heat Transfer Processes in complex geometries. He joined the 3D Energy Device Laboratory and is actively pursuing research into bio-inspired surfaces for improving hydrophobicity which can be applied to the design of Micro-channel heat exchangers to optimize heat transfer. Hasan held the position as an Academic Committee member in NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) and MESA (Mechanical Engineering Students Association) and was actively engaged in organizing tutorials for his contemporaries at the College of Engineering in Ghana. He has a proclivity for teaching, and having been selected as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar catapulted this passion for teaching to its pinnacle, and he is therefore focused  on becoming a professor of mechanical engineering.
