5Being a Mastercard Foundation Scholar means living up to the best of my abilities and capabilities to impact in the lives of others positively.
Shaheeda lives by the motto “anything worth doing is worth doing well.” She worked with Pentecost Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana as an intern where she displayed her problem solving and leadership skills. Shaheeda served as the secretary for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Students Association of Ghana (AMSAG) for 2 years and was elected as the financial secretary for the 2017/2018 academic year. She is currently working in a team of four to design a device to measure vitals of infants during Kangaroo Mother Care. She is also researching design of a wearable device to detect biomarkers related to depression. Seeing people smile and be well is a source of motivation for her and she loves to empower and support those around her. She hopes to one day establish an engineering research center and a medical device manufacturing company in her home country.
