5Being a Mastercard Foundation Scholar to me means identifying myself as an agent of change wherever I find myself.
After spending nearly 3 years working as a customer service and mobile money agent at Scancom Ghana Limited (MTN), Richard used his entrepreneurial experience to support two friends to start-up a mobile money business that served the financial and investments needs of students at KNUST. He is looking to establish a delivery service business at KNUST by 2020 to provide quick and reliable educational and food supplies to students on campus. Richard is passionate about the holistic development and well being of young children in Africa particularly Ghana. This passion drives him in volunteering with NGOs like Claim Initiative and The Impact Crew to propagate the need for education of children in rural areas. In 2010, he contributed in undertaking educational campaigns in rural areas while working as the student advisor for the Ghana United Nations Students Association (GUNSA). Richard is an active member of the Supply Chain Management Association at ASU. His interested is in exploring opportunities geared towards understanding the role logistics play in improving business performance across the globe.
