5To be a changemaker is to be a leader wherever I find myself. A leader by what role I play and not by the position I have. As a changemaker, I hope to influence or improve situations and creatively solve social problems around me.
Ibtisaama is passionate about education and women's empowerment. She is a active member of Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) at ASU and aspires to be a professor and researcher in the field of supply chain. She loves working with kids and has experience in mentoring and teaching refugee youth as she spends several hours of her time volunteering at the Lutheran Social Services. She hopes to empower women and youth (in the rural areas especially) through education. Currently, she is involved in training kids in robotics education and hopes to replicate this venture in Ghana. Prior to studying at ASU, Ibtisaama completed two public sector internships with the Ministry of Power (Ghana) and in piloting the Self -Help Electrification Project (SHEP 5) to extend electricity to rural areas in Ghana. In her spare time she likes to study different cultures, historical events or wars of the world and hang out with friends and family.
