I envision a world where everyone has the chance to access education and self-development, irrespective of their financial, religious, racial or social status.

Nazira Kwanda is passionate about finding means to rekindle and or grow injured nerve cells. She studied Biomedical Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and transferred to further her studies in this field at the Arizona State University. Prior to this, she achieved the excellent student awards for 2018 and 2019 in KNUST and similar awards in her Senior high school (Ghana National College). She served as an intern during the 2019 summer vacation at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital, where she had the opportunity to work under experienced clinical engineers, engaged in anesthesia machine calibration, learned detailed operations of the haemodialysis machine and engaged in its electrolyte mixture preparation among others. She served as an academic board member of the Biomedical Engineering Society for the 2019/20 academic year, a general and financial secretary of the Ghana Muslim Student Association from 2018-2020 academic years, all of KNUST. Nazira volunteers as a peer counsellor and a stern advocate for academic excellence for senior high schools (SHS) in the Ashanti Region, Ghana. She, through her good public speaking and communication skills has educated SHS students on time management and how to effectively study. Nazira loves watching medical documentaries and reading detective novels. She is honest, open to diverse opinions, a good team player and believes there is good and potential in everyone. Her goal is to leave a mark in the health and educational sector by studying diligently to be a bioengineer specializing in neural  tissue engineering, a lecturer and hopefully a surgeon.
