8Being a changemaker means bringing together the collective effort of like-minded people, to transform the state of our society for the betterment of coming generations.
Daniella is a born leader and Mastercard Foundation Scholar who aspires to make a mark through creation and innovation. She was selected by the Mastercard Foundation to pursue a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering through the International Accelerated Degree Program 3+1+1 at Arizona State University.
Her passion-driven spirit has seen her take up many leadership positions in her home country of Ghana, including serving as the president of the Biomedical Engineering Students’ Society (KNUST) for the 2019/2020 academic year. Daniella served with the mantra “Existing in our haven”. Today, these words have become the very push and drive for her passion to redefine healthcare delivery worldwide.
Her pursuit to bring her creative ideas to bear and implement her many innovations has seen her mount international platforms across the globe. Being the first Ghanaian finalist in the Ms Geek Africa Competition, Daniella shares her experience as a mentor in many tech-oriented conventions .
Her undying love for children has seen her spend countless moments with them; notable is her volunteering at Nsawam Orthopedic Training Centre, where she trained kids with varied abilities in basic robotics and Arduino programming.
As she transitions to Arizona State University, Daniella aspires to work with the best of minds in developing low cost assistive technology for children with cerebral palsy in Africa and across the world.
She envisions her home country of Ghana to become a place where Biomedical Engineering is hoisted beyond the repairs of medical equipment as is presently, as well as an Africa where the numerous fields of Biomedical Engineering are harnessed and a world where access to quality healthcare is never a compromise.
She is highly motivated, tenacious, and stands for this call!
