To be a changemaker means to be able to solve problems that improve the quality of an individual or community in your own unique way. This goes to say that no matter where you are in life you have the propensity to implement change.

 

 

Douglas is a self-taught programmer and passionate lifelong learner. He is a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network and National Society of Black Engineers. He believes education can be used as a tool to empower people to realize and maximize their potential. His commitment to education as a tool for change has driven him to volunteer as a tutor to offer his services and give back to his community. Douglas has the core belief that there is no substitute for hard work and commitment. He aspires to work in an organization that focuses on medical instrumentation, robotics and control systems for prosthesis and development of computational algorithms for imaging techniques. Douglas has plans to use innovative technologies to establish telemedicine systems to give people in low resource settings access to health.
