Baafour Ossei is an ardent and tenacious student who is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and currently selected as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar to pursue a master’s degree in Civil Engineering at Arizona State University after his third year of studying civil engineering at KNUST. As a prospective structural engineer, he envisions a world where infrastructure development becomes a hallmark for sustainable economic growth and enhancement in the quality of life across the African continent, especially in his home country, Ghana. His proclivity to embrace and impart knowledge propelled him to volunteer as a pupil teacher in his local community and also a teaching assistant in his alma mater. He frequently collaborates with the National Union of Anglican Students (NUAS) – KNUST to support the deprived and the vulnerable in and around Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Taking on many leadership roles has contributed to honing his skills as a transformational leader. Baafour enjoys computer programming, fashion and music. He also believes that determination, passion, and humility are the qualities that will springboard him into his dreams and ambitions.
